Konzerthaus Nürnberg
Through the construction of a new world-class concert hall, connected to the renowned, historic Meistersingerhalle, the City of Nuremberg aims to expand the cultural offering in the city and meet the highest expectations of both artists and audiences alike. The form of the new 1 500-seat concert hall is inspired by the best historic “shoe box” concert halls from the 19th century, acoustically optimised to meet contemporary demands. Detailed acoustical scale model tests were carried out at 1:20 scale, to push the design and to achieve new acoustical standards for a hall of this typology.
